Need help picking a place to eat this weekend?

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Newtown Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

- Pizza is delicious, but need something different this weekend?

Try Siam, located on South Eagle Road near the Newtown Farmers Market. This Thai restaurant serves up an array of ethnic fare, including noodle dishes, curries, pad Thai, soups, salads, and more.

If you've never had Thai food, pad Thai is a good place to start. Another dish that is sure to please is spicy drunken noodles -- a Thai-style flat noodle served with a protein of your choice, plus stir-fried veggies and a sweet basil and garlic spicy chili sauce. Select from chicken, beef, tofu, or shrimp.

If you want to be more adventurous, you can't go wrong with red curry. The medium-spiced dish is served with veggies, rice, and your choice of protein (chicken, beef, or tofu). Other house specialties include grilled rack of lamb and stuffed salmon.

For an appetizer, try the Thai salad or the chicken satay, which is served with a succulent peanut dipping sauce. Siam offers eat in or take out. It's a BYOB restaurant.
