Library 5K is Saturday
The sixth annual 5K Run/Walk for the Newtown Library Company begins at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The sixth annual 5K Run/Walk for the Newtown Library Company will be held Saturday morning.
The event begins at 9 a.m. with a one-mile Children’s Fun Run. The 5K Run/Walk will immediately follow at 9:30 a.m. Both races will start and finish in front of the Chancellor Center.
The route for the 5K goes up Chancellor Street, makes a left on Frost Lane and down Congress. From there, it goes right on Greene, up Liberty, left on Jefferson, right on Edgeboro Drive to the end. Then runners reverse the route.

All of the race is on the north side of the borough and crosses no major streets.
Following the children's fun run, there will be children’s games, seasonal crafts, live music and Zumba.
