Lockheed Closure, The Promenade Development: Stories to Watch in 2014

Here are some stories we'll be keeping our eye on in the coming year.

Here are five stories we'll be keeping an eye on in 2014:

1. Lockheed Martin to Close Newtown Facility
The Newtown facility will close by early 2015, impacting 800 employees.

2. Steeple View Plans Approved in Newtown Borough
The Newtown Borough Council in February approved plans for a mixed-use development on South State Street but construction has yet to begin.

3. Anthropologie Coming to Sycamore Street
Anthropologie will open a store on Sycamore Street in a mixed-use development at the old Acme site.

4. Supervisors Express Support for DeLorenzo's Plans
The famous pizzeria will head unopposed to the Zoning Hearing Board for variances needed to construct a location in Newtown Township.

5. Newtown Theatre Closed Through 2013
The theatre has closed for movie screenings until next year as it prepares to install a new digital projection system.
