Marino's Name, Address Found With Suspected Bomb

Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler wrote about Marino's connection to a bomb found in Perkasie a day after Marino was killed in Sellersville

Law enforcement will never be 100 percent certain that a bomb found behind Sellersville Fire Company came from the victim.

However, documents with Marino's name and address found with the bomb - along with other items found with the bomb and near the former sign factory where Marino was squatting - do substantiate Marino's alleged involvement.

, Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler recounts what went down the day after on June 10.

At 3 p.m., Sunday, June 10, an adult male approached Tyler Gray, a volunteer firefighter at Sellersville Fire Company, and told him he and his family found a device that resembled a bomb, according to Heckler's findings.

The device was located in the creek which passes under the railroad tracks to the rear of the fire company parking lot.

The discoverer found the device when he moved blue sweatshirts located on some rocks in a creek bed, according to the document.

Police were summoned, including Allentown Police Department Bomb Squad.

Heckler wrote that crews examined the device, disrupted it with a series of water shots, and x-rayed the device in order to figure out how to access it.

Also found in the creek were various papers, which contained Marino's name, police said.

Other papers featured typed religious diatribes that, Heckler said, are consistent in format and content with a paper that was found taped to the rear of Marino's Toyota.

Here is the religious diatribe on a paper found in the creek:

Near the device in the creek were two packages of what Heckler called "synthetic marijuana." One was labeled "Cloud9 Mad Hatter Incense" and the second was labeled "Zoola Aromatic Potpourri."

A search online found www.cloud9madhatter.com, the site for K2 Herbal Incenses. The website describes its product - the same found in the creek - as "a good alternative for those who want to experience a different 'high.' The good thing about this is that unlike marijuana, it is legal to purchase this product. You can actually find one in local stores if you are lucky ... Since the incense is actually composed of natural herbal components, there is less risk of any toxic compounds entering your body."

Heckler wrote in the findings that the blue sweatshorts smelled heavily of gasoline.

While law enforcement evacuated nearby properties and set up a perimeter, they discovered from a resident that he had seen a blue garment and papers under the railroad bridge on Saturday and at 7 a.m. Sunday.

The device referred to as a bomb was described as a metal silver-colored canister. One end of the device had a printed circuit designed as a timer with a three-digit readout and two probes affixed to one end. Heckler, at the press conference, likened the readout as something from a "James Bond" movie.

The device was not weathered and measured about a foot long, Heckler said.

A pair of gloves and clothing were also found next to the device, Heckler wrote in his findings.

"No substance was ultimately found which would have been capable of supporting an explosion or fire," Heckler wrote in his findings.

There was also another paper item found in the creekbed: a printed bill sent from "Purebulk Nutrition, PO Box 43, Broadbent, OR 97414" addressed to "Michael Marino, 602 South Perkasie Road, Apt. 3, Perkasie, PA 18944" There was also an email address listed: dabombactor@gmail.com.

The bill showed that 500 grams (1250cc) of Phenylethylamine HCL 5000 was ordered on August 7, 2010.

Purebulk Nutrition is a vitamin and dietary supplement company, according to its website.

Phenylethylamine HCL increases dopamine levels within the brain, while inhibiting the action of dopamine transmitters. In other words, it tricks the brain into releasing a peptide that gives the feeling of that of a painkiller.

Although no explosive was identified after the device was disrupted by water shots, two empty drain cleaner containers were found in the area immediately adjacent to the factory where Marino had broken in on Saturday.

Heckler said that, according to Internet postings, drain cleaner may be used to help fashion a homemade explosive.
