If Griffin Popescu had to pick a lucky number today, it would most certainly be 12.
The Newtown Elementary School sixth grader is turning 12 today -- on 12/12/12.
Griffin's mom, Mindy, said her son is a fun-loving person with a huge heart. He enjoys playing and watching sports, especially baseball and basketball. He has a great sense of humor, his mother said. He's known for his funny instagram photos, silly snap chats, and most recently when he dressed as South Koren rapper Psy for Halloween and danced to "Gangham Style" on stage at school.
"His best qualities are his bear hugs, how he loves to laugh, his sense of humor and his kind, kind heart," his mom told Patch.
He has many nicknames, including Griffy-Griff, The Griffster, Grifferdoodle and G-money.
