Remember the Earthquake?

A year ago at 1:51 p.m. on Aug. 23, an earthquake that hit Virginia also rocked Pennsylvania. Where were you then?

A magnitude started in Virginia at 1:51 p.m. a year ago today. Shakes were felt in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and New York.

Some people had books jump off shelves, cracks appeared in sidewalks and streets, and others felt nothing at all.

Where were you when the earthquake struck? Was it exciting, or scary?

Here's what people said then:

Felt it at the office in Trevose, fiance felt it at home in Newtown. Apparently, did not faze our usually neurotic Vizsla though!

I felt it in Southampton and saw lights in my apartment shake. My dog barked (rare) and I didn't know it was an earthquake until it was over.

in bensalem <PA small earthquake maybe 3 sec

I was having a conversation with my neighboor, and watched as the houses across the street started to sway.

Resident said, " I think were all in trouble now."

Thankfully not the case.

Serious shaking in Horsham, @ first didn't think much of it as I live in close proximity to the base and and have grown accustomed to shaking, even when a garbage truck goes down my street it vibrates a bit. But, this vibration was definitely different and scary once I found out exactly what it was afterwards.

We were sitting in The Draught (?) Horse bar at Broad and Cecil B Moore in North Philadelphia after installing my son in his dorm for his freshman year at Temple. I felt a very brief shake through the wooden booth we were sitting in, and thought it to be the Broad St subway. Then I realized that the bar was a good half block away from the subway, and that must have been ONE BIG train. It wasn't until hours later that we heard about the earthquake, although I would have to say what we felt here was more like an "earthburp".

Yep, we were on the beach at Ocean City, MD, and literally, the world just seemed to move beneath us. I had my phone, and jumped on Twitter, and quickly saw what had happened. It was crazy.
