The Patriot FC soccer club, formerly Upper Makefield-Newtown Soccer Club, will be holding a kick-off event Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brownsburg Park in New Hope.
Philadelphia Union goal keeper Chase Harrison is set to make an appearance at the event. Participants will also be able to partake in games and win prizes, organizers said. Special training demonstrations will also be part of the event.
The U-12 Girls and the U-10 Boys teams, who both represented the club in the state Cup semi & quarter final rounds last year, are scheduled to play a friendly game, organizers said.
“We are proud to announce our transition to Patriot FC, which allows us expand our Club and related training opportunities, yet maintain the uniqueness of historic Washington Crossing and our Club heritage,” Director of Coaching and Player Development for Patriot FC Gavin Flanigan said in a statement.
A picnic will be part of the evening, too.
