Summer 2014 to Be 'Exceptionally' Hot, Humid: Farmers' Almanac

If the Farmers' Almanac is correct, summer 2014 will be “exceptionally” hot and humid in Pennsylvania.

The Farmers' Almanac predicts the northeastern part of the United States will be humid, wet and thundery this summer. "Oppressive” humidity is expected throughout the northeastern part of the country, including in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, the Farmers' Almanac predicts.

“We predict that while warm weather will initially be slow to establish itself, by July summer heat will have arrived in full force across much of North America,” the Farmers' Almanac said.

Hurricane activity is expected to be near or below normal activity, according to predictions by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Hurricane season begins June 1 and goes through November 30.
