A Full Day of Music Planned for Brewfest
There will be three live bands and a disc jockey at Brewfest, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 22.
You won’t find just beer at . The day will feature a variety of live entertainment, according to organizers.
Brewfest, to be held Saturday, Oct. 22 at the , will feature three live bands as well as disc jockey Harry McCloskey of In the Mix Entertainment.
“Harry has a reputation for getting the place jumping and will serve to kickoff our afternoon of music,” said Bill Cunningham, who is organizing the entertainment for the event.

The bands that will perform are Stolen Rhodes, Rose Parade and Stems and Seeds.
“All three bands have a great reputation. They play extensively in the area, have a great fan base and all have at least one member from Newtown,” Cunningham said.

Cunningham added that this year, the stage will be pulled forward so those in attendance "can enjoy the bands while still being within an arms length of their favorite beer.”
Stolen Rhodes plays classic-rock style music. “People often say they are a cross between Bruce Springsteen and Dave Matthews,” Cunningham explained. “They appeal to rock n' roll fans from 20 to 60 and from every walk of life."
Rose Parade has a more mellow sound, according to Cunningham. The band has written and produced four albums. Their latest album, which was released in June, is “No Silence Was Ever So Clear." Cunningham compared their style to Roy Orbison – they have “great harmonies, strong songs and a certain mellowness that underscores their great musicianship,” he said.
Stems and Seeds is a local favorite and draws crowds to the , Cunningham said. “The band plays a large array of cover songs we all know and love but with a fresh approach," Cunningham said. "They have six members so they offer a big sound and great vocals.”
