Celebrate the Chinese New Year Saturday at Dragon

Newtown Township Parks and Recreation's annual Chinese New Year celebration for children ages 7 and older is this Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

 

It’s the year of the Dragon and what better way to celebrate the Chinese New Year than at Newtown’s own Restaurant?

Newtown Township Parks and Recreation’s annual Chinese New Year celebration for children ages 7 and older is this Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Dragon of Newtown.

The event will feature children's activities and crafts. Participants will make eggrolls, wonton soup and learn Chinese papercutting.  All children will leave with a traditional Chinese New Year goodie bag.

The history and meaning of the Chinese New Year will also be explored and every child will enjoy a traditional Chinese New Year rice cake.

The cost to attend is $15 for residents and $20 for nonresidents. A $10 materials is due to the instructor at the beginning of class.
