Let's Do the Time Warp Tonight

The Newtown Theater is presenting a special midnight screening of the cult classic "The Rocky Horror PIcture Show." Show up in full costume and get $5 off your ticket.

After the trick-or-treaters have been tucked into bed and the jack-o-lanterns have lost their glow, a different kind of Halloween celebration will get underway in Newtown.

The is holding a special midnight screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show"  -- a cult classic that often draws a loyal following of costumed fans and animated audience members.

Doors for tonight's screening open at 11:30 p.m.  The 100-minute film starts at midnight. It is rated R.

If you come dressed up, you won’t just add to the festivities, you’ll get a discount on your ticket, too. People who come in full costume will pay $10 to enter. Regular admission tickets are $15. Anyone under 17 must have a parent come in and purchase their tickets.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is the story of a newly-engaged couple who end up at the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. There, a series of odd events occur as the couple interacts with a bizarre entourage of characters.

Today is the final day to catch the local screening of the movie, which has been showing at the local theatre for a limited time. It opened Friday.
