Doylestown Native a Contestant on New SyFy Show

The winner will receive prizes worth $100,000 and a contract to work with Jim Hensen's Creature Shop.

A Doylestown native is a contestant on a new SyFy show.

Tina Roland, 28, originally from Doylestown, will appear on "Jim Hensen's Creature Shop Challenge," which premieres at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The show features "10 aspiring creature creators competing to out-imagine one another in a series of challenges where they will build everything from mechanical characters to whimsical beasts, bringing high-end inanimate creature designs to life," SyFy said.

Roland now lives in Hollywood, where she works as a freelance effects artist.

"I've found a group of people here who understand my madness," she told SyFy. "We already feel like family, it's just a matter of who's mom's favorite."

The winner will receive prizes worth $100,000 and a contract to work with Jim Hensen's Creature Shop.

"Jim Hensen's Creature Shop Challenge" airs at 10 p.m. Tuesdays on SyFy.
