AOY Summer Art Camp

TEDDY BEAR PICNIC - NEW! Students will bring their favorite teddy bear to class as inspiration in exploring the art of shape, texture, and line and to create drawings and still life paintings of their teddy bear muses in pencil, charcoal, pastel and tempera paint/mixed media. We will have a teddy bear picnic on the last day of camp. Teaching Artist:  Jo-Ann Osnoe. Ages 5-8. No class 7/4

DRAW Animals & People - NEW! Teaching Artist:  Christina Harrison. Learn to draw starting from basic shapes to create animals like giraffes, lions, horses and a variety of more. Learn how to draw people running, sitting and other positions. The final drawing will be a scene of animals and people together. Ages 5-8. No class July 4.     

3-D Bugs & Lizard Sculpting - NEW! Teaching Artist: Robert Esposito Jr.. We will examine and observe different species of the local creepy crawlies, specifically the bugs and lizards! We will learn from their bodies, wings and legs all about proportion, balance and shape. Then using techniques such as coil, we will combine different shapes to create sculptures of our own 3-D bugs and lizards, as well as create individual habitats for their exoskeleton creations. Ages 8-12. No class 7/4.
