Goodnoe Students Honored for Arbor Day Posters

Six Goodnoe Elementary School students will be acknowledged for their artwork at the Newtown Arbor Day Celebration on April 26 at Brian S. Gregg Memorial Park.

Six Goodnoe Elementary School students were recently selected as winners of the annual Arbor Day Poster Design Contest.

The winners, first-graders Tali Deutsch, Anish Heda, Eliana Vovk  and fifth-graders Gulia Strokin, Sarah Porter and Caralyn Coolidge, will be acknowledged at the Newtown Arbor Day Celebration on April 26 at Brian S. Gregg Memorial Park.

The contest was open to Goodnoe Elementary School first and fifth graders. “Students were encouraged to design a poster illustrating the importance of trees in our world,” according to contest organizers.  “The result of the challenge is a beautiful collection of children’s artwork” that will be displayed during the annual Arbor Day celebration.
