'Idol' Contestant to Judge Welcome Day Singing Competition
'American Idol' contestant Courtney Calle will judge a singing competition during Welcome Day on May 5.
There is a full schedule of live entertainment for Welcome Day, including an appearance from "American Idol" contestant Courtney Calle. Newtown Business Association's annual street fair will be held May 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event, held on Sycamore Street, will feature giveaways, crafts, food, entertainment, kids activities and more. As many as 10,000 people typically attend the annual event, according to organizers.

- Rising Star singing competition featuring student and adult divisions. American Idol contestant Courtney Calle will be one of the judges and will perform between contests.
- Country radio station XTU will be broadcasting live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
