COMIC OPERETTA
What: The Bucks County Gilbert and Sullivan Society presents the musical comedy "Patience, or Bunthorne’s Bride." Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operetta spoofs the celebrity adulation paid to overly-aesthetic poets, which were all the rage in Victorian England. New Britain Mayor David Holewinski will perform a cameo appearance as the solicitor.
When/where: Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Delaware Valley College Student Center, 700 E. Butler Avenue, Doylestown

MEET GENERAL LEE
What: Monkey's Uncle is celebrating its three-year anniversary with a weekend full of events, the highlight of which will be a visit from General Lee of "The Dukes of Hazzrd."
When/where: Saturday at 3 p.m. at Monkey's Uncle in Doylestown
Cost: Attendance is free, items for purchase vary
FLAG RETIREMENT SERVICE
What: A demonstration of the proper technique of retiring and folding flags
When/where: Saturday at 10 a.m. at The David Library of the American Revolution, 1201 River Rd, Washington Crossing

DESIGN STUDIO OPEN HOUSE
What: Bare Root Design Studio will celebrate its grand opening with an open house. Attendees will have the chance to tour the Sycamore Street studio and historic home of the designer.
When/where: Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bare Root Design Studio, 127 S Sycamore St, Newtown. The house tour begins at 3 p.m.

NEWTOWN ARTS COMPANY AUDITIONS
What: Auditions for Newtown Arts Company’s production of "Arsenic and Old Lace."
When/where: Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Newtown United Methodist Church, 35 Liberty Street, Newtown. Callbacks, if necessary, are Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Performances of the show are October 17 to 23.
