No Dueling Beer Festivals This Year

Beerfest will be held Saturday. There is no Brewfest planned.

Beerfest is the only game in town this year.

For the past several years, there have been two beer festivals—Beerfest, which benefits the Newtown Fire Association, and Brewfest, which was held by Newtown Corporation.

But this year, there will be no Brewfest, Newtown Corporation officials confirmed.

Beerfest will be held this Saturday from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at The Stocking Works, 410 South State St.

The event will feature beer from more than 80 breweries, as well as live music and food. General admission tickets are $40. There are “first tap” tickets available for $75. Attendees with first tap tickets can enter at 12:30 and try some special unique beers.

There is also a designated driver ticket for $10 that allows entry into the event, but no tasting is permitted.

First National Bank is this year’s mug sponsor, which means bank’s logo will be on the side of the tasting mug that everyone receives.  This is the second year that the bank has sponsored the mugs.

Beerfest tickets are now available for purchase through the event website or at the following local retailers: Clubhouse Bar and Grill; Isaac Newton’s; John’s Barber Shop; and Triumph Brewery in New Hope.

Participating breweries include Harpoon, Neshaminy Creek, Ommegang, Riverhorse, Troegs, Yards and more. Click here for the full list.
