'The Odd Couple' Opens Thursday

The Newtown Arts Company’s production of “The Odd Couple” opens this week at the Newtown Theatre.

The first performance of Neil Simon’s Tony-Award-winning comedy will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. It will be directed by John Rasiej and produced by Nancy Pickering.

The production will feature the stage debut of television personality Don Polec, who will play Vinnie. Newtown resident Jeff Pilchman will play Oscar and Matthew Maher, also of Newtown, is Felix.

Polec is regarded by viewers in the area who were fans of his regular "Don Polec's World" feature on 6abc’s Action News, where he provided two-minute segments on his observations of quirky and weird aspects of life.  He was also a feature correspondent for ABC's "Good Morning America."

Performances of “The Odd Couple,” begin Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and continue Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. There will be a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m. and two performances next week, on June 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m.
