Village Renaissance Faire is This Weekend

Take yourself back a few centuries this weekend at the Village Renaissance Faire, to be held Saturday and Sunday at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds.

The Village Renaissance Faire is a re-creation of a 12th through 16th century village named Penn's Park. Thousands are expected to attended the event, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

The Renaissance Faire, in its 14th year, is a fundraiser for the Village Library of Wrightstown.

“The Village consists of eight stages and various sets: Merchant Squares, Living History Pavilions, Food Courts, Gaming area, Multi-cultural enclaves, Craft Corners, and Kid's Kingdom,” according to the event website. 

Attendees will enjoy “the ultimate family festival” that will feature live performances, stories, history, crafts, entertainment and interactive play. Click here for a full event schedule and grounds map.

The Village Renaissance Faire treats fairgoers to live chess, archery contests, armored horseback jousts and more. In recent years, as many as 10,000 people have attended the fair over the course of the weekend.

“The village has all the entertainment, crafts, food, and history befitting the interest and entertainment of everyone, from peasantry to nobility, youth to senior,” according to the event website.

Admission is $5 for adults; children under 5 are free.
