'Winter in the Park' Event to be Held Jan. 26

The event will be held at Tyler State Park and features a hayride, bonfire and refreshments.

Newtown Township Parks and Recreation will host Winter in the Park on Saturday, Jan. 26 at Tyler State Park.

The event features an old-fashioned country hayride pulled by Belgian draft horses wearing brass sleigh bells. The horses are from A Better Way Farm in Newtown.

Attendees can bring a blanket and enjoy a journey throughout the park. After the ride, there will be a bon-fire, hot chocolate, cookies and marshmallows.

Registration is required. The deadline to register is one week prior to the event. Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the departure time. (Meet at the Boat House area at Tyler State Park.)

There are four sessions: 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
