Monument Bank Robbed, Police Say

Monument Bank on Swamp Road was robbed Monday, according to Newtown Township Police.
At approximately 2:10 p.m., police were dispatched to the Monument Bank in the 30 block of Swamp Road for a report of a bank robbery.
Police described the suspect as a clean shaven black male, 6’2” tall, in the range of 30 to 35 years old. He was wearing a dark green knit hat, a red sweatshirt with a half zipper but was not wearing a mask or gloves, according to police.
"He handed the teller a note indicating he had a gun and this was a hold-up," information from Newtown Township police said. The suspect left through the front door with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
He was last seen in an older model silver VW beetle.
FBI personnel responded to the scene and will be assisting Detective Chris Bush with the investigation,police said.
