State Street Shop Raided, Drug Paraphernalia Seized, Police Say

Police from Northampton, assisted by Newtown Borough Police, seized about $10,000 worth of drug paraphernalia from the Tobacco Leaf on State Street during a raid Wednesday.

A State Street tobacco shop was raided by law enforcement officials Wednesday evening after a narcotics investigation led by Northampton Township Police Department.

Police from Northampton, assisted by Newtown Borough Police, seized about $10,000 worth of drug paraphernalia from the Tobacco Leaf on State Street, according to Northampton Detective Bill Klein.

During the raid, law enforcement officials seized 177 pipes, 21 griders, 70 scales and approximately 300 packages of an assortment of spices, Klein said.

Charges are pending against the owners of the business, Klein said.
