Annual Welcome Day Event is Sunday

Welcome Day, Newtown's annual street fair, will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Approximately 170 crafters, artists and local business owners will have tables with information, giveaways and products. The event, held on Sycamore Street, also features food, entertainment, kids activities and more.

It is sponsored by the Newtown Business Association. As many as 10,000 people typically attend the annual event. This year, country radio station XTU will be broadcasting live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The current forecast looks perfect for the event; www.weather.com is calling for sunshine and highs in the mid 60s.
