Barre 3 Plans to be Reviewed by Zoning Board Thursday
If all goes as planned, Barre 3 will open in Newtown sometime this spring.
Plans for a Barre 3 fitness studio in Newtown are moving forward.
Barre 3, an approach to fitness that combines ballet with yoga and pilates, went before the Newtown Township Planning Commission last month with plans for a Newtown location.
Lauren Ziel, who will be opening the studio in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, said the plans will now go before the township's Zoning Hearing Board on Thursday.

If all goes as planned, Ziel expects the studio to open sometime this spring.
According to its website, Barre 3 workouts combine "dynamic movement and isometric holds" to "transform the body and develop long term postural benefits."

According to media reports, pop star Madonna is a fan of the Barre 3 workout and has trained with the studio's founder, Sadie Lincoln.
The chain is based out of Oregon but has locations throughout the country and in the Philippines. There are currently two locations in New Jersey. The Newtown location would be the first Barre 3 in Pennsylvania.
