Crêperie Béchamel Opens in Wayne

Jennifer and Patrick Yasaitis serves sweet and savory crepes in the former Johnnie’s Dog House location.

Jennifer and Patrick Yasaitis ate crepes on their first date three and a half years ago.

On Saturday, June 30, the wife and husband duo will open their first business venture together, , at 11 Louella Court in downtown Wayne.

They will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Crepes are very thin pancakes that are popular on the streets of Paris and are served with a variety of ingredients inside them. Béchamel is one of the “mother sauces” of French cuisine.

They have spent months perfecting their crepes and fillings. There will be wheat and buckwheat (gluten free) options for the crepes.

Some items on the menu will include:


Vegetable with béchamel

Chicken with spinach, mushroom and goat cheese

Ham with cherry compote and Swiss cheese



Bananas Foster

Apple pie with caramelized apples and vanilla crème anglaise

Carmel Smores



Ham, egg and cheese

Greek yogurt, granola, berries and local honey


They will also serve the “classic crepes,” like Nutella and sugar and lemon.

The Yasaitises told Radnor Patch that they will make everything themselves in the crêperie, including soups and pastries, like brownies, profiterols and macaroons.

Jennifer studied pastry arts at the Restaurant School in Philadelphia. Patrick has been cooking all of his life, although he has never before worked in the food service industry.

Crêperie Béchamel will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We found out about this place when we met a new friend (our daughter new friend'smom!) and she told us hot dog place is gone and new restaurant has come in. That was Friday and Saturday mornIng my wife picked up three crepes for breakfast. I've never tried crepes even during our trips to Paris - but these were awesome. There was mushroom one, one Mediterranean and one with berries. A week later we were back with our girls 5 and 8. Sat on tables outside. Lovely place - and I ordered mediterranean again and so did my wife and daughter got the lemon berry - older daughter was not ready to give in that fast so we picked up Mac and cheese from Wawa on the way. All had a great time. Everything was made right there and then and was fresh and very filling - perfect portions! I wish you luck guys and we will be telling all our friends. Jay

The delicious smell of baking crepes greets you as you open the door to Creperie Bechamel. We tried the veggie crepe and the Meditteranean crepe.....both were incredible. We took 3 sweet crepes home.....Smores, Apple Pie & the special cr epe (brown sugared pears, almond crumble and lemon creme) We loved them all!!! You taste all the fresh ingredients in every bite!! Customers were raving about their orders!!! Jenn & Pat are so friendly and nice. You will have a great meal and a wonderful dining experience!!! Ooh La La!!!
