De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies Eyeing Newtown Location

Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Mike Gallagher said De Lorenzo's has purchased a property on Newtown-Yardley Road.

Trenton’s beloved De Lorzeno’s Tomato Pies is eyeing Newtown for a new location, according to sources.

Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Mike Gallagher said De Lorenzo’s has purchased a property on Newtown-Yardley Road, where the former veterinary hospital was located, with the hopes of serving its famous tomato pies in Bucks County.

However, Gallagher said, the township has not yet received a formal application from De Lorzeno’s. Representatives from the business have been in contact with township employees regarding zoning and sewer issues, Gallagher said.

De Lorenzo’s tomato pies are famous throughout the region. The pizzeria, which first opened in Trenton in 1947, last year closed its restaurant in the city’s Chambersburg section. It currently operates a restaurant in Robbinsville, N.J.

An email to De Lorzeno’s was not immediately returned.
