CREF is an independent organization, separate from the school district, recreated in 2006 as an expression of our community’s commitment to children, and its efforts are solely supported through donations from individuals, groups, and businesses and through support of various fundraisers.  The Foundation seeks to support continued educational excellence in our schools, promote alternative funding to enhance innovation in education, encourage community involvement and partnership, and foster reciprocal acts of service between the school district and the community.  CREF is made up of a diverse group of volunteers who are committed to our children. They include parents, alumni, business and community leaders, residents and educators.

Since 2007, 42 grants totaling $64,891.28 have been awarded, which includes this year’s grants totaling $20,772.28 to be awarded on May 17 at the Council Rock School Board meeting.

CREF offers a unique way to support their mission. The Staff Recognition Program is available throughout the year. Honor a staff member who has made a difference in your child’s(ren’s) life by making a donation in their honor through this program. A student designed card will be sent to the individual(s) acknowledging your generosity appropriate for the time of year, whether it is at holiday time, to recognize a milestone, and/or an end-of-year thank you. These donations are tax deductible and help engage students in learning.
