Lilly's Closing, Sycamore Grill Coming

The Sycamore Grill should be open by Thankgiving and will feature a menu of steaks, seafood and pasta.

If you're in the mood for a margarita and a quesadilla, you won't be able to count on to satisfy your craving in the near future.

The Mexican restaurant on Sycamore Street will be closing as soon as next week and the Sycamore Grill will be taking its place.

On Wednesday, the Newtown Township Supervisors gave applicant Joe Feraco a "certificate of appropriateness" for paint and sign colors. A certificate of appriopriateness is needed due to the historical nature of the building.

Feraco said he is in the process of buying Lilly's and is hoping to settle early next week. From there, he plans to renovate the space and hopes the Sycamore Grill will be open by Thanksgiving.

"We’re going to change it from the Mexican theme to a bar and grill," he said, adding the Sycamore Grill menu will include steaks, pasta and seafood. Feraco said he intends to continue utilizing the back patio for outdoor dining.

Feraco got the nod from the supervisors to put up a black, green and gray sign. The stone exterior will stay the same but the clapboard portion of the building, which is now a blue-grey color, will be painted tan. The shutters and trim will be black, he added.
