Local Shops Participating in Small Business Saturday

The Tubby Olive, Newtown Bookshop, Sweet Pea and Learning Express are participating in Small Business Saturday.

Across the country, Small Business Saturday has become a day during the holiday shopping season that puts the spotlight on locally-owned businesses.

Hosted by American Express and sponsored by FedExClear Channel and many other corporate supporters, the third annual Small Business Saturday will be held tomorrow, Nov. 24. The aim is to help small businesses generate exposure and business during the biggest shopping season of the year.

Last year, more than 100 million people pledged to "Shop Small," by visiting brick-and-mortar shops in their neighborhoods and American Express estimates this year's turnout will be even greater.
