Margiotti and Kroll to Move to Former Veterinary Hospital Building

The pediatric practice, which is currently located in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, is planning to move to the former Newtown Veterinary Hospital.

Margiotti and Kroll Pedatrics is moving from their current location to the former Newtown Veterinary Hospital building on Newtown-Yardley Road, township zoning officials confirmed.

On Thursday, the Newtown Township Zoning Hearing Board granted approval for minor variances needed for driveway dimensions on the property. The variance was granted as long as the use remains a medical location, explained Brandon Wind, Zoning Hearing Board member. The variance will not apply if the use someday changes.

Joshua Dowd, practice administrator, said they hope to open the new location by February 2015. A complete interior and exterior renovation to the existing building will be done, resulting in an office more than twice the size of the current space.

"Our current plans for the building include 11 patient examination rooms compared to the six we currently operate," he said, adding the new property will have 48 parking spaces.

Margiotti and Kroll also operates offices in Trevose, Warrington, Langhorne and Northeast Philadelphia. They have MK Plus offices, which provide counseling and nutritional services, in Newtown Borough and Doylestown.

Last year, DeLorzeno’s Tomato Pies was considering opening a location at the veterinary hospital building. However, the famous Trenton institution withdrew its application in January.
