McCaffrey's Soft Opening Sunday

With renovations continuing, the family-owned supermarket chain is set to open its Newtown Township location on Sunday morning.

The new McCaffrey's Market in Newtown was abuzz with activity Friday afternoon as workers stocked the shelves in preparations for the 42,600-square-foot supermarket's soft opening Sunday at 7 a.m.

. From almost the moment the store shut its doors, crews worked 14 to 16 hour days to transform the supermarket into a McCaffrey's store, employees said.

"Our goal is not only to satisfy the customer, but to delight them," Jim McCaffrey, owner of McCaffrey's, said Friday.

The store will employ about 150 people, many will be familiar faces to those who shopped at the Genuardi’s, Lopez said.
