The Birches of Newtown, a new senior living community at Durham and Eagle roads in Newtown Township, will celebrate its grand opening this weekend. The facility will be giving the public a look into what the newest residents, some who moved in as early as March, are experiencing.
The celebration will be held Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
The 87,000-square-foot assisted living complex was constructed on 8.6 acres where abandoned houses once sat.
Construction crews broke ground on the two-story, 120-bed complex last spring.
According to management, the grand opening celebration will feature refreshments, a ribbon cutting and tours.
The Birches provides month-to-month leases for personal and memory care services. The on-site Daybreak at The Birches neighborhood is designed for residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory impairment.
