Palate, a State Street restaurant, will close this month. Owner Justin Kaplan said Palate will serve its last meal Nov. 11.
Kaplan said the business didn't take off the way he forecasted. "We have become an event and celebration restaurant, leaving the weekdays pretty slow."
He said while the menu was changed to be "simple and approachable," he couldn't defeat the perception that Palate was a fine dining restaurant.

The restaurant opened in July 2010.
