Patch Visits a Recycling Plant

Ever wonder what happens to all those recyclable materials you throw out every week? Patch and Metra4.com found out at Waste Management's processing plant in Philadelphia,

In recognition of America Recycles Day, Patch and Metra4.com took a trip to Waste Management's processing plant located off the Cottman Ave. exit of I-95.

Representatives from Waste Management demonstrated where the trucks dump the collected materials and how they are sorted, processed and baled before shipped off to mills throughout the world. 

America Recycles Day is a national program of Keep America Beautiful dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the U.S.  Since its inception in 1997, communities across the country have participated in America Recycles Day on Nov. 15 to educate, promote environmental citizenship, and encourage action.
