Qdoba to Open in Newtown

The Board of Supervisors on Wednesday approved a conditional use application by Qdoba to open its first Bucks County location in the Village at Newtown West shopping center.

Qdoba has received approval from Newtown Township to open a location at the Village at Newtown West shopping center.

The Board of Supervisors on Wednesday approved a conditional use application by Qdoba to open its first Bucks County location. The Mexican eatery will be located at 2950 South Eagle Rd, in a 2,800 square-foot space that was previously a doctor's office.

There will be no change in the building footprint during construction of the restaurant, however, dormers will be added to the roof and stucco will replace the existing siding.

The eatery was also granted permission to construct an outdoor patio on a portion of the land that is currently concrete and landscaping.

According to Valerie Coburn, Qdoba's regional recruiter, the Newtown location is slated to open in September or October.

Qdoba is a fast-casual restaurant serving an array of Mexican favorites, including quesadillas, burittos and nachos. Click here to view the full menu.

It currently operates more than 600 locations in the United States. Currently, locations nearby to Newtown include restaurants in Horsham and Princeton, N.J.

Is this where the McDonalds was supposed to be located?
Sandy March 01, 2013 at 01:57 AM
And this is top news, why? Another eatery ho hum. What we really could use is a Super WaWa and cheaper gas and great coffee.

no, it's actually the building next to bank of America with the "bright now dental" place in one side.

More traffic in the village. Wonderful just what we didn't need.

There are still some vacancies in both the Township and Borough. Contact your favorite coffee shop and invite them to come to Newtown.

Never, Ever, in Newtown ! I would like to see one here ALSO !

Barbara, thanks for that suggestion, and yes, I am looking into that. My bet is that your one of these Newtown transplants , not an original Newtownian, who moved here and think you can place judgements on others comments regarding the expansions in Newtown. Since Newtown began building endless townhomes, banks and houses many years ago, they gave up that right to continue to call this town HISTORICAL. The historical society tried controlling the improvements of homeowners, but I guess thats a thing of the past. So that being the case, why not permit a WaWa, or any other convience type store? Take you snide comment and move your butt back to NYC or Camden or where ever you came from, you got here to late. 50 years ago it was a very quaint town in which everyone knew everyone, and the house Geo. Washington slept in was still standing and not a gas station. Day late, dollar short Barb.

Enough of the chain restaurants. Bring small business back to Newtown.

Forget WaWa how about a Wegmans, Whole Foods or Trader Joe's

How 'bout another sandwich shop. Every 50 feet is not enough. Or a Waffle House to go with the new Mobile home park.

Kara- Did this deal for Qdoba fall apart? No signs of any construction so far.
Kara Seymour May 17, 2013 at 05:15 PM
I don't believe so. When I spoke to them before, they said it wouldn't open until the fall so perhaps that's why no construction yet.
Man Landers May 17, 2013 at 05:24 PM
Thanks, Kara. I appreciate you responding so quickly.

A WaWa is an excellent idea! How do we make that happen?
