The Birches Hosting Seminar on Eldercare Benefits for Veterans

A Veterans Affairs accredited claims agent will be on hand to explain an eldercare benefit that can reduce the cost of senior care for veterans and their spouses

The Birches at Newtown, a new senior living community opening in Newtown, is hosting a free benefits seminar for veterans on Oct. 30 at the Corner Bakery Café.

A Veterans Affairs (VA) accredited claims agent will be on hand to explain an eldercare benefit that can reduce the cost of senior care for veterans and their spouses, according to information from The Birches.

VA offers a program called the “Improved Pension,” which has three different levels: base, housebound and aid and attendance. The monthly allowance can be used for professional care in the home, independent, personal care or nursing home care for a veteran and their spouse.
