Violence in Iraq Driving Up Gas Prices, AAA Says

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Pennsylvania is $3.77.

Your full tank of gas will cost more this summer than in recent years.

Gas prices at this point in the summer are at their highest in six years, according to AAA. The national average price for regular unleaded gas is $3.68 per gallon, which is the highest price for early summer since 2008.

Violence in Iraq is causing prices to spike upwards, AAA said. Prices have increased “as ISIS (the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) has continued to expand toward southern Iraq, where the majority of the country’s oil production is located,” AAA said.
