First off, the Irish NEVER ate corned beef and cabbage. Cabbage maybe, but they were too poor to afford it. The rich English, who lived in Dublin ate corned beef. Secondly in Ireland, this day is a holy day and not much else. I am sick and tired of the stereotype that the Irish are a bunch of drunks. Most of the people celebrating are not even Irish. I would rather celebrate all the Irish over came. Starvation, murder and prejudice to succeed in this country then Irish drinking.
