Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown

1. Since April 15 was a holiday in Washington, D.C. (Emancipation Day observed), today is tax day. Be sure to file your state and federal taxes today.

2. Council Rock School District is off this week for Spring Break.

3. If you're looking for something for the kids to do this week while they're off from school, the has a "School's Out" camp Monday through Friday. There's also a musical theater camp and gymnastics.

5. The Newtown Historic Association meets tonight at 8 p.m. at Half Moon Inn. The topic is "Treasures from the Attic."
