5 Things You Need to Know Today: August 11

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1. Mother Nature is spoiling us. (Or maybe she's still trying to make up for the harsh winter?) Either way, it's going to be a perfect day today, with sunny skies and highs in the low 80s. Get outside!

2. If you're itching to enjoy the good weather, consider a walk around town, a stroll through Tyler State Park or lunch al fresco. Of course and have outdoor seating, but did you know that does, too?

3. The is open today from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will offer fresh fruits, vegetables and other locally-produced goods. The outdoor market is located at Edgewood and Heacock roads. There's also a playground for the little ones to enjoy while you shop.
