5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 18

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1.     There’s no school today for Council Rock students.

2.     Poet Bob Holman comes to today. Holman, who produced “The United States of Poetry” for PBS, has spanned the globe performing poetry, including in Timbuktu, Bajul and Dakar, on the Brooklyn Bridge, and in the back of a bus in the middle of the Sahara. The performance begins at noon in room 128 of Tyler Hall.

3.     There will be a family Game Night for children with autism tonight at LaSalle University. The free open house event for children with autism and their families begins at 5 p.m. and will feature games, movies, arts and crafts, and refreshments. 4.     There will be a Library Poetry Group gathering tonight at the . The gathering begins at 8 p.m. The Newtown Library Company is located at 114 Centre Ave, Newtown.
