5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 28

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown

1. Today is the last day of February, the shortest month of the year. If you have any end-of-the-month business to take care of, like car inspections, don't forget to do it today.

2.  With 28 days in February, there's no leap year in 2011. But there will be a leap year in 2012, when February will have 29 days.

3. Be sure to bring your umbrella when you leave the house today. Forcasters say there's a 100 percent chance of rain throughout the day.
