5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 4

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown

1.     Hey Council Rock parents: don’t forget to check your kids’ backpacks today. It's report card day!

2.     We’ve got a big night of basketball ahead in Newtown. Both the boys and girls Council Rock High School North varsity and junior varsity teams play Council Rock South. The girls’ JV game starts at 4 p.m., boys JV follows at 5:30 p.m. The girls’ varsity is next at 7 p.m., followed by the boys’ varsity.

3.     Tickets are still available Saturday night’s Country Western Show benefiting the Bucks County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 53. The show starts at 6 p.m. at Council Rock High School North. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.  The evening’s opening act is The Mango Men. Little Texas will take the stage as the main act.

4.     Auditions for Bucks County Community College’s spring production of “Addicted” continue today. The auditions are open to BCCC students and begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Newtown Campus, 275 Swamp Road.

5.     There will be a PTO-sponsored Family Fun Night at Wrightstown Elementary School tonight.
