5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 10

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1. It will cool down a bit today from yesterday.  Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 80s with a chance of thunderstorms.

2. The Newtown Historic Association will hold a free this evening at 6:30 p.m. It is an opportunity to learn about some of the borough's historic and architecturally intriguing homes. The tour starts at the Half Moon Inn on Court Street and Centre Avenue. It will be held weather permitting.

3. will hold its End of the Year BBQ this evening at 6:15 p.m. A 7:30 p.m. Shabbat service will follow. For more information, visit www.shiraminow.org.

4. 's "Movies by Moonlight" series continues tonight with a screening of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1." The film begins at 8:30 p.m. and is free. Refreshments will be available for purchase. The film will be showed outside if the weather permits. If not, it will be shown in the library's Community Room.

5. is hosting a summer wine pairing event this evening at 7:30 p.m. It will feature a four-course meal of summer fare complimented with wine. Tickets are $39.95 per person. Reservations are required. Call 215-860-9975.
