5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 24

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1. Newtown Township Parks and Recreation is hosting a "Welcome to the Jungle" event today that will feature animal-themed crafts and snacks. It's from 11 a.m. to noon and is for ages 4 to 9. 2. Starting Monday, Newtown Township Parks and Recreation's six-week summer camp starts. Both Camp Newtown (grades one through five) and Teen Camp (grades six through eight) have spots available. 3. Looking for some outdoor family fun tonight? Shady Brook Farm's Summer Wine Concert Series continues this evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Mark Register and The Change will perform music and wine will be available. There's a playground for the little ones. For more information, click here.

4. There's another opportunity to catch live music around town tonight. Stems and Seeds is playing at starting at 8:30 p.m.
