5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 27

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1. Today is Field Day for Council Rock's elementary schools. Goodnoe, Newtown Elementary, and Wrightstown Elementary all have their field days today. The rain date is June 3, but the weather looks like it will be okay -- hot though so don't forget to pack lots of water if your child is participating. Forecasters are calling for temperatures in the high 80s with a 30 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms.

2. If you're not in elementary school and want to have your own adult field day, check out ' Happy Hour Workout today at 4:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the workout will be held outside at The fee for drop-ins is $10. Members pay no fee.

3. Looking to do something outside with the family tonight? Shady Brook Farm's Wine Concert Series continues tonight at 6:30 p.m. The evening will feature acoustic guitarist and vocalist Bob Croce. 4. There's another option for live entertainment this evening in Newtown. Stems and Seeds, a classic rock band, is playing at starting at 8:30 p.m.
