Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

October is National Apple Month and today all Council Rock elementary schools are participating in Apple Crunch Day.  This event is aimed to teach students that fruits and vegetables are an important part of a nutritious diet. As part of Apple Crunch Day, cafeterias will offer apples as part of lunch and students will be offered samples of several additional varieties of apples.

The one-hour class will cover the basics about canine cancer, how it is treated and how it can be avoided. Participants will also learn about the significance vitamins and dog food types.
