5 Things You Need To Know Weekend Edition: Oct. 8 & 9

Essential information about the weekend ahead in Newtown.

1. It's going to be a beautiful weekend, weatherwise. It's a perfect opportunity to do some pumpkin picking or make a stop at the Wrightstown Farmer's Market, which is being held today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wrightstown Township Municipal Building on Second Street Pike.

2. Bucks County Wine Trail is holding a Harvest Festival today at its partner wineries and will be participating. Enjoy a fall afternoon at the vineyard during the Harvest Festival, which is from noon to 6 p.m.

The Newtown Area Republicans will hold a fall Meet and Greet Sunday evening at from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Republican candidates for Council Rock School Board from Newtown, Newtown Borough Council and Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will be there. Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick will be the special guest. Light refreshments and coffee to be served. The event is free and open to all.
