Black Bear Spotted in Buckingham

The bear sighting Wednesday afternoon in Buckingham is one of several reported over the past few weeks.

A black bear was spotted Wednesday afternoon in Buckingham Township, according to a report on phillyburbs.com.

A resident of the Windsor Square neighborhood told the publication she spotted the bear in her backyard climbing on her family’s playground equipment.

This is one of several black bear sightings reported in Bucks County and the surrounding areas over the past few weeks.

In May, several black bear sightings were reported in Lower Bucks County, including in Croydon, Hulmeville, Middletown and Bensalem.

Earlier this month, a black bear was spotted in Solebury Township, CBS Philly reported.

Several black bear sightings occurred last spring also, including this incident in Doylestown Township in which a bear was seen at the baseball fields at Veterans Memorial Park in Maplewood.

In May 2012, Newtown Township police received as many as four reports of bear sightings.
