Delaware River Expected to Crest Monday

Moderate to major flood levels expected, County officials said.

The Delaware River is expected to crest Monday mid-morning to late afternoon, with moderate to major flood levels throughout Bucks County, Bucks County Emergency Management Operations Center officials said Sunday afternoon.

The Neshaminy Creek is expected to crest in Langhorne over 19 feet, officials said.

Bucks County Commissioners Charles Martin and Robert Loughery are currently touring the county assessing the damage and will concentrate on the areas around the Neshaminy Creek and the Delaware River, officials said.

In addition to flooding, Hurricane Irene caused road closures and power outages throughout the region. PECO is estimating 79,000 residents and businesses throughout Bucks County without power.
